Quite an enjoyable experience with plenty of history to read up on within the gaol that describes a very interesting prison lifestyle among other things, well worth the entry price

A Spectacular piece of local history. Immaculately maintained. History buffs and photographers will enjoy what is on offer. Great views of the coastline and mountainous surrounds.

We had no idea this existed until we drove into South West Rocks and picked up a brochure. We stayed an hour or so and it was plenty of time. Lots of effort has been put into the displays (audio/visual installations) and don't miss the upstairs museum at the entrance as it is easily missed. Wheelchair access is very hit and miss, but there are some things that "could" be enjoyed if you're attempting this location (with help) on wheels....but certainly NOT everything. Visually impaired visitors should be given a discount, despite the efforts of audio installations, there isn't nearly enough to justify payment of a full price ticket.
